templatefilters: avoid infinite recursion bug in stringify

This doesn't ever happen on Python 2, but it's been a persistent pain
on Python 3. Adding this helped produce some of my upcoming Python 3
fixes.

a simple plain text format that's easy to read and edit:

It's also convertible to a variety of other formats including standard
UNIX man page format and HTML. You'll need to install Docutils:

  http://docutils.sourceforge.net/

Use the Makefile in this directory to generate the man and HTML pages.
