perf: move revlog construction and length calculation out of benchmark
We don't need to measure the time it takes to open the revlog or
calculate its length.
This is more consistent with what other perf* functions do.
While I was here, I also renamed the revlog variable from "r" to
"rl" - again in the name of consistency.

Basic install:
$ make # see install targets
$ make install # do a system-wide install
$ hg debuginstall # sanity-check setup
$ hg # see help
Running without installing:
$ make local # build for inplace usage
$ ./hg --version # should show the latest version
