node: import symbols explicitly

There is no point in lazy importing mercurial.node, it is used all over
the place anyway. So consistently import the used symbols directly.
Fix one file using symbols indirectly via mercurial.revlog.

A script that implements uppercasing all letters in a file.

  $ UPPERCASEPY="$TESTTMP/uppercase.py"
  $ cat > $UPPERCASEPY <<EOF

  > setbinary(sys.stdin)
  > setbinary(sys.stdout)

  $ printf $TESTLINES | "$PYTHON" $UPPERCASEPY
  FOO
  BAR
  BAZ

This file attempts to test our workarounds for pickle's lack of
support for short reads.

Check that we don't get a crash
