check-code: support multiline matches like try/except/finally

- match one pattern at a time against entire file
- find line containing match
- sort matches by line number

test that 'hg commit' does not crash if the user removes a newly added file

  $ hg commit -m "commit #0"
  $ touch b
  $ hg add b
